At Alice Farmer Counselling, I understand that mental health is a journey that can be complex and deeply personal. My mission is to provide a supportive environment where individuals can explore their thoughts and feelings, ultimately leading to greater self-awareness and well-being.

My Personal Journey

My journey with mental health began at a young age, shaped by the family struggles I witnessed. These experiences highlighted the profound impact that such challenges can have on individuals and their loved ones. I also recognized the transformative power of proper support, which can change not only an individual’s life but also the lives of those around them.

As I navigated my own ups and downs in adulthood, I sought counseling and experienced the process first hand. This personal journey fueled my passion for the counseling profession and solidified my commitment to helping others find their path to healing.

Not thinking I needed much help I’ve come to recognise that I needed Alice’s input more to support me than to ‘fix’ the issue. I could not of made it this far without true support. I first came to her some time ago and, when I recently felt I needed a little support again, I knew straight away that she was the person I wanted to go back to. She is so warm, kind and easy to talk to, and I’ve always felt completely comfortable and understood in her sessions. Alice has a lovely way of helping you work through things without ever making you feel judged or pressured. I’m genuinely very grateful for the support she’s given me and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her to anyone looking for a counsellor.

Hard to describe the kind of difference a good counsellor/therapist can make to someone who hasn't either had or needed one, but it's given me a second chance at a life I didn't realise I'd given up on. Just over a year ago I was in a very dark sad place where I honestly felt my world had imploded, Alice helped me see through the pain, anxiety and darkness. I am now in a place where I have hope and light. I cannot put into words what it means to have someone you trust implicitly that guides you through the very darkest moments.
